Stuart Rothwell’s career includes a wealth of experience applying data science and analytics to real world business challenges across a variety of industries. After graduating with a first-class honours degree in Mathematics and a PhD in Multivariate Applied Statistics from Newcastle University, he went on to apply statistical machine learning methods in the financial services sector with GE Capital, then extensively with Dunnhumby’s retail clients such as Tesco, and more recently in the government sector with HMRC.
A large part of his career has been as a senior analytical leader with Dunnhumby. His proudest achievements include working on site in Seoul, South Korea leading the analytical proof of concept work that led to a long term worldwide agreement, and also leading the start-up of the firm’s India based analytics hub.
In doing so he led, coached and grew analytics teams of up to 80 people, and was responsible for recruitment training, strategy and operations. A key part of his client consulting work has involved communicating complex analytical approaches and findings to non-technical audiences, including presentation to CXO level audiences.
